Why?

Very VERY rarely have I ever been in a situation where this would have been useful, and in the end it wasn't necisarry anyway

Actually, I go along with Karab there. It has been suggested many many times yet it's not been implemented, so why care about it anyway?
Use google. It's your friend. Just type x into its browser and there you go. Sorry sand but this is not needed. You know, there are a lot of things that would come up as a problem. Firstly, a lot of topics would pop up. What does this mean? It means that it would take so much space that WoN forums would lag and in the end we would all end up stopping playing WoN and browsing its forums. Another problem that's just popped up in my mind is that it wouldn't even be easy to find what you'd be looking for. So all in all, no, implementing the idea would equal to committing suicide lol... anyway it's just me. Mods may implement it but I'm really not sure.

The best topics tend to always have replies or even be stickied. Sure it might be a good idea to have a search engine searching depending on keywords, the author or the subject matter (which is already sorted out today).

However an elaborate search function would be better if we get more activity here.
