Skyrim. Release of the year by a long way, and frankly a brilliant RPG. Had it for 2 months and I'm still playing it. Assassin's Creed: Revelations and LoZ: Skyward Sword deserve a mention too though; the former is a nice purchase if you're a fan of the series (not as great as previous titles, but good nonetheless), the latter is just great IMO. Battlefield 3 if you're into shooters?
