I was just thinking, maybe competing in the ladder season, and playing arena matches could be two seperate "events" as it were.

The way I was thinking this could work is that each player actively enters a ladder season by toggling (ie playing in the season/Not playing in the season) what would be an additional button in the arena screen (ie where Hana/Jinsei/Asami etc). Now this button doesn't affect anything until the ladder season ends, at which point if it's set to "playing in the season" the players account will be reset and they'll be added to that seasons roster, or if it's set to "Not playing in the season" they are left with their stats, but they're not added to the roster.

The reason for this is that there's a number of achievements which require you to have reached a certain level in ladders, but since the ladder season has been introduced, no-one has made it higher than 43, and that was only the very highest of players. This leaves 2 achievements, well not really achievable, unless people were able to keep their level after the end of the ladder season, by not competing in the next one.

So by not competing in the ladder season, you will be able to keep your ladder stats and further on it. I see your point now. But this is only good for like 5 achievements or so?

But I guess you have a point. Not everyone can reach 40+.

Well, it's easy for the admins to add new achievments, I mean, they could have us achieving all the way up to level 300 if they want, with little (well maybe a bit if it were 300) effort on their part.

and only 6 or 7 people reach over 40 last season, and that was with an extra month on the end

I do agree that level 50 is hard to reach.

The only reason Marcel reached it is because Season 1 was so long and the Exp system is changed.

Well I think it would be easier with more activity. Right now only a few ppl get t high levels so its difficult for those high level members to climb higher while fighting members many levels lower. Once the ladder is a bit more active and there are many members even at high levels, then it should be a bit easier, if you win of course xD

Tsu, I think you're being a bit blaise

WoN is going to be more active eventually, but that's not going to come soon enough really

And anyway, even when we had nearly a full year, the highest level was 60 something, and less than a hundred people made it over 40, I know because I was 35 and in rank 84

And look at N-A and S-A, the highest level in both is 47, and they've had years to level up, literally years

AND they're both more active than WoN

Hmm I guess something should be done. If your idea was used then some achievements would have to be disabled, like the rank #1 achievement and the others.

You missed the entire idea of the suggestion

You can have you ladder stats not reset if you DON'T compete in that season

So only people who have their stats reset can compete for the #1 achievement

I don't think it would even matter if you weren't in the season roster and couldn't play. Your ranking would just stay the same as last time and you would have to wait for 2500 players to play, and when that happens I'm sure the person's achievements won't change. They should just give us another month to ladder.

Eh. Personally I took it as the short ladder seasons being part of the challenge of reaching 45,50,ect.
Plus, removing the ladder season and adding it could make the game rather wonky.

It is an interesting concept, but personally I wouldn't want to see it implemented unless it was worked up quite a bit.

@DS: As I've said, that woulsn't solve the problem, in 9 months, less than 100 people were over level 35, in 4 you think that at least double that would be able to get there?

@Nuckle: I understand the technical issues that it could pose, but you must admit that there is a difference between a challenge and impossible
