Brief Clan History:
Following in the footsteps of Tsubasa (will get to him later), the Ishi clan have dedicated themselves to the pursuit of medical knowledge. As legend goes, Tsubasa lead the clan to isolation, where their only focus would be medicine. For over five hundred years, not one person had seen or heard from the Ishi. Although, rumors of their existence did surface every few years. The most prominent rumor being the Ishi had developed a medication that could cure any ailment.
Ishi Haruka
Character History: Haruka was one of the few newborns in the Ishi clan*. She has very little knowledge of the outside world, having only the stories told by the elders to whet her curiosity of what lies beyond her small village. By the age of sixteen, Haruka was already beginning to master the art healing. At night, she would often venture outside the village limits, searching the forest for wounded animals that she could help. One night while in the forest, she saw something wonderful. The sky was filled with marvelous colors raining from the heavens onto the forest below. Filled with excitement, she rushed back to the village to share what she saw. But when she arrived, Haruka was meet with mass chaos. People were rushing every which way, children were crying, and the elders gathered scrolls and documents that have laid untouched for years. Before long, Haruka was carrying a pack filled with food and clothes heading off with the rest of the clan, leaving their burning village behind. [The Elders set the village on fire to protect clan secrets]. For the next three years, Haruka's medical training was put off. Instead, she was taught how to use a bow and arrow.
(Extra Clan History: Other clans have found their burned village and have since been in pursuit of the Ishi clan. A few scorched fragments of the village were discovered by other clans. Those fragments were enough to identify the village as belonging to the Ishi clan. Ever since that night, the Ishi moved from spot to spot, fending off a few scouting parties now and then.)
During one of the skirmishes, Haruka fell victim to a trap and was captured. She was brought back to some unnamed clan, imprisoned and tortured to reveal the secrets of the clan. She has been there a week before our hero/heroin (the player) comes in and breaks her out.
*I'll explain that when I feel like writing the next clan character, Ishi Megumi.
Character Appearance: Young (obviously, as she is only 19). She has a simple bow sitting on her left shoulder. She dresses in green garments, but her clan symbol is sewn onto her sleeves. [I'm really bad at writing physical descriptions. If you have something better than this, or want to improve on it, be my guest.]

More Clan History: (Remember that asterisk from before?) Two hundred years ago, the Ishi made a monumental discovery. They discovered ambrosia. Ambrosia cured all known illnesses, including death and old age. Immortality was granted to mankind, but immortality had a catch. Ambrosia was mentally and physically addictive and would cause painful death to those who stopped taking it. Ambrosia also caused a very sharp increase of stillborn children. Around 98% of all pregnancies resulted in a stillborn child if either parent was using ambrosia. But by the time these side effects were discovered, many people of the already small village had perished. And almost everyone else was addicted to ambrosia.
Ishi Megumi
Character History: Megumi, along with the rest of the elders, was one of the villagers who helped created ambrosia two hundred years ago. (Current age is 241 years.) Everyday she cannot help but think of all the suffering she helped create. She still cannot forgive herself for what happened to her youngest daughter, who died because of ambrosia. Since that day, she has worked extensively with ambrosia, and found that it's healing powers and it's deadly side effects can be controlled to some degree.
With the news that her granddaughter Haruka has gone missing, Megumi volunteered to find her and bring her back. But as she was preparing to leave, another member of the council approached her. He told her that if she couldn't get Haruka out alive, Megumi would have no choice but to kill her. The clan couldn't risk exposing any of their secrets to the outside world.
Megumi comes and discovers that Haruka is safe, and then the player gets ambushed. She then leads the player back to the village.
Character Appearance: Megumi wears a white robe, with a red cross across her chest. This is the standard clothing for all the elders. Hidden in her sleeves are needles drenched in deadly poison. She has the appearance of a woman in her 60s (which is quite fantastic, seeing as she is 241 years old.)

Ishi Tsubasa:
Clan History: As with most legends, both fact and fiction become molded together by the hands of time. The legend of the Ishi clan is no exception. Five hundred years ago, Tsubasa didn't lead the clan in a pursuit of medical knowledge – but in an endless and tiring pursuit of the Phoenix. Years went by, and the Ishi clan was not any closer to finding the mythical Phoenix than when they had begun. Many had lost hope, and each year they grew more and more restless. Until one day, the Ishi clan had enough. They revolted against their leader, and deemed him mentally unhealthy...and so they tied him to a tree and everyone else left to find a suitable place to live. As legend has it, he died in that forest, still tied to the tree.
Character History: Tsubasa was tied to that tree for days, maybe even a week. Time flows differently when tied to a tree. And the fine line between reality and fantasy become blurred, so that one cannot tell the difference between delusion and actuality. It was in this state that he saw it. It came flowing down from the heavens ablaze in burning beauty, screeching cries beyond that of just pain alone, but certain death. The Phoenix was dying...it crashed into the forest, igniting the trees around it. And in a flash, the entire forest was on fire. Tsubasa couldn't believe his eyes. The Phoenix, the creature of his obsession, was only a few minutes away. And if he could get free, he would witness one of the greatest moments of its life – its death..and if lucky enough, it's rebirth. It didn't' take long for Tsubasa's tree to catch on fire, along with the ropes that bound him there. Once free, he rushed into the flames to find the crashed Phoenix...
The next thing Tsubasa remembers is waking up in a charred forest...with a pair of beady eyes looking straight into his. This must be death, he thought, for no creature of such perfection would take interest in me.. It only took a few pecks from the birds beak for him to realize he hadn't died. When he got up, he noticed a strange mark on his arm. A red burn slashed through his left arm, but no where else was there a burn or even a scratch to be found. Tsubasa looked over at his feathery friend, and noticed a similar marking on it's wing. From that moment, he knew that somehow, perhaps through divine intervention, that he and the Phoenix had been joined.
So Tsubasa and the phoenix set off to look for the clan. He knew that he couldn't go back...but he also knew he couldn't just leave them. And so he and the phoenix became the hidden guardians of the Ishi clan for five hundred years, keeping them safe.
Well. The player finally makes it back to the village, but...they were followed. D: And enemies from all around come and attack you. But out of the blue, Tsubasa comes out of the sky, riding the Phoenix. And you have to win some battles with him and yadayada.
Character Appearance:
Tsubasa has 6 burn scares across his left arm. The Phoenix, which rests on his left shoulder, has the same type of marks on its wings. (This marks indicated how many rebirths they went through). Tsubasa has white hair, but there are fringes of glowing red seeping through. Both Tsubasa and the Phoenix are looking old (They are around the age of 83 since the last rebirth), and almost look like they could burst into flames fairly soon. Tsubasa wears a black robe, accented with red and orange on the edges.
