Bokeh means Haze or Blur. I created this region for fun, and im still working on allot of details along the way. Map was edited using the Santi and Hanto maps, aswell as the forum background. Also, some of the skills may be out of "WoN" terminology, such as the classes. I'll fix them with suggestions in the future.

Refixing Map

Dialogue - It's been many years since the fall of the Prince of Blades. Each day since then has offered new opportunities to those lusting for power. Far away from Hanto and Santi, situated on the most northern marshlands of the world, was a region called Bokeh. This region was given its name by two great sailors who discovered it after getting lost in the thick fog covering its waters along the coastline. After their discovery, these two men roamed every corner of this region. They explored paths through the haze, the cold and the darkness, setting their eyes on all of the unique places and features that the region had to offer. When word of Bokeh's discovery spread across the world, people soon started calling it "The Lands of Faith". A lot of families emigrated to these lands, hoping it would grow to be a prosperous and influential region.

For years its population kept growing slowly but surely. Its inhabitants found Bokeh to be a peaceful place. Its villages and clans were known to be kind and helpful, even towards strangers. "The Lands of Faith" might be a name that promises nothing but good, but there are those who who find the region's real name a more fitting one. There were places in Bokeh inhabitable only by those who can withstand the harsh environment. Bokeh's cold mountains are pelted by rain and sleet almost every day. The mountain peaks rise above the mists covering the lands, providing the people living there with clear blue skies. Hidden in the mists, the central area of Bokeh is where most villages in this region were founded. Lastly, there's the lower area of Bokeh. These lands are thinly populated. They are known to have been the setting of several sinister historical events.

Bokeh prospered and evolved more and more into the influential region that it seemed destined to be. Many enjoyed the changes this brought to the region. Others were less enthousiastic about it, but adjusted to the changes nonetheless. However, everything changed when news came of the downfall of the Shogunate. Evil spread throughout the lands and the inhabitants of Bokeh started to lose faith. As time passed, revolts occured. Bokeh turned into a lawless region, where people took matters of dispute into their own hands. People got punished by their neighors for even the smallest crime they had commited many years ago. Soon, not a single person appeared to have any faith in their future left. Clans turned from helpful to malevolent and the villages lived in anarchy. Men killed their women and children to free them from their misery. Women abandoned their children and fled from their homes, as far away from the region as they could. Children turned to stealing for a living and fought anyone who stood in their way. As months passed, everything that was once good in these lands had disappeared, leaving only chaos and sadness. Every day grew darker as time flew by. Both people and animals cried of pain or suffering everywhere. The sky quickly grew dark from the fire and destruction that occurred.

However, not everyone was losing their minds. In the midst of all this madness stood a small and intelligent clan, who forced their rule upon other villages and clans. This clan was called "The Ningyou". They restored order to lands that had been lost in chaos. They formed a council to run over the whole of their lands, but used their power to terrorize the little people that were left in the region. They claimed whatever item, person or place they saw fit as their property.

The Ningyou were swift and strong, but there were other clans whose powers proved dominant over the common people as well. These clans felt that no one should rule over these lands and that every village should be able to live in peace and prosperity without anyone forcibly putting restraints on their way of life. One morning, these clans joined forces in battle against the Ningyou, fighting for the justice they yearned for. Sadly, the Ningyou overpowered them. The clans lost and had to pay for their disloyalty by torture and containment. The council decided that the clans should be exiled from their lands. They were banished to the foulest parts of the lower area of Bokeh. This area soon became known as the "Slums". It was dark and mellow. The fog there seemed almost solid. It blocked so much daylight, that the sun shining from above barely provided enough light to cast a shadow. The entire area suffered from the stench of death. People had trouble sleeping because of the foul smell of the dead, the lack of clean water and the shortage of food.

The council banished more people from their homes every day. In only a short amount of time, the Slums became the most densely populated area of Bokeh. The council assigned people they called "Watchers" to guard the Slums, who were selected from the Ningyou and other clans who lived in the central area of Bokeh.

There appeared to be no hope of the Bokeh region ever returning to its former glory, until one day... A small group of people stepped up once again, planning to overthrow the rule of the Ningyou. Forming new alliances, they waited for the day to arrive when they could finally fight for their lives and take back that what was once known as the Lands of Faith.

The Ningyou

.....................................................................

Ningyou History - The Ningyou is an ancient clan which formed before the feudal age. It was originally created by people with vampiric qualities, known truly as Purebreds. They were seen as vampires by outsiders, but to the people within their inner circle, they seen themselves as hybrids. The clan started off as a small family of three. The first was a handsome banker named Salazar, who strived to keep his family happy. The second was his sister Yanye, who was like a mother to her two brothers. The last was their younger brother Chuushin: a kind-hearted boy who adored his siblings dearly.

What the siblings loved most was meeting new people and traveling to different places. Doing so, they hoped to increase the size of their family and gain territory over places everywhere. With that in mind the trio formed an order known as "Tres Davida", meaning Three Beloved. After forming this bond, the three prepared for others to become their successors, sharing love and care with those around them whilst training them.

With each passing of a millennium, new faces and families appeared amongst its ranks and soon the Ningyou was dominant in power. But because of their high morals, laws were formed for the purpose of keeping order amongst the clanmembers and keeping truces with other clans as well. Sadly, some people who joined the Ningyou clan not long ago were not as faithful as the older generations and disregarded such treaties. The lust for blood and power of the newcomers began a era of chaos for the clan.

Many of these rebels were executed by the heads of the family, but some proved too strong to catch, and soon after, the Tres Davida lost control of their people. Many uncanny battles took place. In the end, Salazar and Yanye were forced to make a sacrifice. They gave their lives to protect their younger brother Chuushin, when he was seconds away from being ripped apart by the very people who he once turned.

Suffering from great pain after losing his siblings, Chuushin fled his home and began searching for a new life as an unsent. Many decades later, a small branch family of the Ningyou, with a new head in charge, began eradicating ordinary non-vampiric humans. This leader was called Hansha. Hansha was a modest woman who had a gift for putting the many skills of her people to the best possible use. She even discovered new talents that were never known to come with vampirism. She had the Ningyou scatter throughout various parts of the region, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Using their newly discovered extraordinary talents, those who possessed good skill made a name for themselves of possessing godly powers. One of the newly found talents was the possession of dolls created by spirit energy. Some extracted this energy from nature, whilst others drew their power from other sources both inorganic and organic alike. Their reputation spread to the furthest corners of the Bokeh region. Because of the high standards that were set by Hansha, it was expected that all actions performed by the clan were an flawless. Hansha even had this rule added to the old testaments created by the family originators. Members who failed to live up to her standards would suffer banishment by the Demon Lord herself.

Ningyou supremacy was already a fact before the fall of the militia. When the militia fell and the Ningyou observed the destruction and disorder caused by the news, they took advantage of the tragedy. Knowing that there was no clan or authority that could stand in their way, they used their abilities to establish their reign over the Bokeh region. But ruling the Bokeh region is not the end of the Ningyou ambition. Even now, they are plotting to expand their borders beyond the region and one day dominate the entire country.

Ningyou Tsuta

Information

Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 180 centimeters/5’11
Weight: 51 kilograms/112 pounds
Appearance: Tbh

Ningyou Tsuta Bio:
Tsuta is the second leader of the Ningyou and the daughter of Demon Lord Hansha. She is very affectionate, but always concerned about her body shape and size. Because Tsuta is a Purebred, she ages slowly, but possesses everlasting youth and strength, especially when well fed. But those incredibly talents aren't enough to satisfy her. She bores easily, so whenever she feels the need for entertainment, she forces random village members to fight to the death and rewards the winner to a night out with herself. If her date doesn't please her (and they never do), she will feed his soul to her Doll Venus, who loves her for it. Then she will create havoc of her surrounding to ease her thirst for blood. Tsuta is already a force to be reckoned with alone. When she fuses with her doll, she becomes even more dangerous. Her beauty brings only misfortune to those close to her.

Ningyou Reimei

Information

Age: 15
Gender: Male
Height: 165 centimeters/5’5
Weight: 58 kilograms/127 pounds
Appearance: Tbh

Ningyou Reimei Bio:
Reimei is the little brother of Tsuta and son of Demon Lord Hansha. He is the only blind member of the Ningyou. He is also one of the few Purebreds within the Ningyou Family. He is often quiet and only speaks when spoken to or when he is denied something he longs for. Although blind, he is very smart and shows a strong desire to follow Ningyou traditions. Because of his lack of vision, Reimei's enemies often assume he is weak and easily fooled. However, when they challenge him in combat, they face the power of his doll Heizen, who turns the tides of the battle by providing Reimei with amazing power.

Ningyou Bassui

Information

Age: 922
Gender: Male
Height: 188 centimeters/6’2
Weight: 66 kilograms/145 pounds
Appearance: Tbh

Ningyou Bassui Bio:
Bassui is the older cousin of Tsuta and Reimei. He is the loudest of the bunch. Unlike Tsuta and Reimei, Bassui isn't a Purebred. Bassui was once human, born into an ordinary family that served the Ningyou many decades ago. Because of the illness that threatened his life, he was turned by Yanye, in hopes that he would become a great addition to the family. When the Tres Davida lost control of their people, Bassui was tempted to obey his uncontrollable thirst and join the brawl. However, he managed to suppress his urges and instead he fled the scene, along with a small group of Ningyou members. Having escaped his fate, he settled in a new home. He was then taken in by Hansha, who felt his power would be of great use to her in future events. He is currently a Watcher, guarding the slums. He usually spends most of his time playing shogi for tokens and coins. Strangly enough, Bassui is one of the few members of the Ningyou who hasn't fully mastered the use of their doll. Because of this, his Doll Grell makes fun of him when they are fighting or even when Bassui is resting at night. Bassui hates how he's unable to fully manifest his powers. Because Bassui doesn't have complete control, Grell's attacks are not only a threat for their opponents, but also dangerous for himself and Bassui.

Before the Bokeh Region was founded, these clans lived among the flatland's. They derived from two very small clans which settled a discrete over space. There was the first clan being the Jaku. The Jaku was a small guild that was inherited with field medics. They specialized in remedy, and led a great life following their leader Son. The second clan mentioned were the Heishi.

Heishi was a lower rank warrior clan who fought bravely in battles. They were guided by their leader Emma and brought little peace and protection to those around them. The Hibiki

.....................................................................

Hibiki History - The Hibiki is a bright and pleasant clan. Many of its members are gifted carpenters, musicians or craftsmen. They use their skills to create valuable items, both for entertainment and practical purposes. The Hibiki even worked for the Grandmasters of other regions, which spread the word of their talents all over the world.

Their last Daimyo Ohino was an old, fragile man whose talents surpassed everyone else's. Even at old age, he remained young at heart. After his death, it was decided that no Daimyo should ever take his place. This was done in honour of the great efforts he made in bringing the Hibiki to the position they're in today.

When chaos and revolutions spread through Bokeh, many members of the clan began to panic. They tried to keep their distance from it all, but with the clan lacking a leader, things got out of control. They turned into the very thing they feared and events occurred that were more terrible than they could have imagined. Not being able to stand witness to the evil acts that occurred, a pair of people decided to take charge of the clan. These two people were the great great grandchildren of Ohino. They decided to break the tradition of the clan not appointing a Daimyo, in order to correct the wrongs that were done.

Pursuing their ideals, they rose and took action into their own hands. They began by putting their strongest member Okashi in the Daimyo's seat. As second in charge they chose Ayane. Following the plans laid out for them, Okashi and Ayane fought for their future of their region. He only just survived, which changed his way of thinking. Life itself suddenly seemed more real to him. This gave Okashi a new understanding of the things around him. He became ambitious to fight in order to secure his clan's future. Not long after, it was decided for him to become Daimyo of the Hibiki. It was now his job to make sure that the clan would not fall to pieces. During the Hibiki depression, Suzu felt the need to step up and fight under the guidance of his newly chosen Daimyo. However, he was denied because of his young age. He became enraged by the decision in the presence of Okashi and Ayane. After witnessing the passion Suzu had for doing what was right, Okashi retracted his decision and made Suzu a soldier of his army. Suzu fights using speedy movements to outmaneuver his enemies, while setting bell-traps to reveal his enemy's blind spots.

The Hisame

.....................................................................

Hisame History - Because of their disliking for the blurred sky, the Hisame clan is settled in the mountains, living above the haze covering the Bokeh region. They have better survival skills than most people and have managed to advance those skills with the grace of aqua. They were one of the original clans to arrive in Bokeh, arriving only shortly after the Sanshou did. Because of the many things they had in common, the Hisame and Sanshou formed a relationship. They considered themselves distant cousins and aided each other when needed.

The Hisame produced a lot of gifted hunters with incredible talents during the early years of war. The main priority of Hisame hunters is maintaining their bond with Suijin, the God of Water. He is who they turn to for protection and guidance when all seems lost. To keep this bond strong, the Hisame must follow the specifics of a very important tradition. This tradition is called 'The Order of Waves'. It's a historical event where each first-born must interact with Suijin. They must accept each other's energy and passion, and the goodness in their heart is put to the test. After the person has passed the trials, the clan celebrates the continuation of the wonderous relationship they share with Suijin. If one person would happen to fail these trials, that person would drown under the weight of Suijin's Wrath and the bond between the Hisame and Suijin would cease to exist.

When chaos first started to spread through the Bokeh region, the Hisame were quick to react. They realized that they would have to intervene with the ongoing events in order to keep the peace between the lands. It was the only way to protect their family and allies, and restore the region's lost faith.

I'm impressed by the amount of effort you've put into this. I only read the introductory dialogue so far and I can tell you've spend a lot of thought and attention on the storyline. Sadly, it's hard to read, because your English is lacking. I've decided to correct your storyline for you, to reward you for your hard work. I won't change the story ofcourse, but I did add some of my own interpretations in there. I hope you'll replace your texts with mine. (no need to give credit, and you're free to edit it if you don't like certain parts)

Dialogue

It's been many years since the fall of the Prince of Blades.

I will get to reading and commenting on the village descriptions and the character designs later.

Here's your Ningyou clan with corrected spelling.

Ningyou History - The Ningyou is an ancient clan which formed in the early 1200's. It was originally formed by people with vampiric qualities. They were seen as vampires by outsiders, but people within their inner circle knew they were actually hybrids. The clan started off as a small family of three. The first was a Spanish banker named Salazar, who strived to keep his family happy.

Because Tsuta is a pure breed, she doesn't age and possesses everlasting youth and strength.

Reimei is the little brother of Tsuta and son of Demon Lord Mana. He is the only blind member of the Ningyou. He is also one of the few pure breeds within the Ningyou Family.

Unlike Tsuta and Reimei, Bassui isn't a pure breed.

So you're saying this clan comes into being 400 years (give or take) after the events of the game? The game is set in 866DR, so 1200 would be quite a way off...

Also, Spain does not exist.

As for creating dolls with Spirit Energy, ehh...not fond of the idea. Trapping Spirits in dolls specifically created to house Spirit Energy, yes, works, but making dolls...less so IMO.

May do more later if I feel like it.

Thankyou Dutch once again, I actually laughed as how you reworked Tsuta. More appealing to me.

Nori, I have no clue what the term 866DR means. I googled it, and kept getting doctor results and street names. But I have read about Japanese Hierarchy, and found some helpful info to help fix my storyline. I was going with the flow of making the story based off of ideas before & during the feudal age. As for the dolls, I came up with random abilities. Since part of this is fictional, I had it in mind that specific talent would take effect.

I honestly didn't mean to rework any characters. I guess I interpreted Tsuta's character in a way different from how you meant to describe her. This just shows how important proper spelling and grammar is, so let's continue with your next village. ;)
By the way, this one was written much better than the previous texts I rewrote. It didn't take that much time at all. I hope the next two clans will be just as easy to correct! :)

Sanshou History - The Sanshou is one of the most gifted clans of the Bokeh Region, and one of the first to call it their home. They are known for their miraculous healing abilities, as well as their knowledge of the region’s history. They receive respect from people all over the region for saving people from even the most grimm sicknesses known. Although their name is infamous now, what many don't know is that the Sanshou clan didn't always go by that name.

Before the Bokeh Region was founded, the Sanshou lived in the central area of the region that went by the name of the "flatlands". The clan originated from two very small clans who were settled in that area. The first clan was called the Jaku. The Jaku could better be described as a guild than as a clan. They were formed in the early 1400's and specialized in remedy. They lived prosperous lifes, following their leader Son.

The second clan was called the Heishi. The Heishi was a lower rank warrior clan who were notorious for their bravery in battles. Under the guidance of their leader Emma, they strived to bring peace and offer protection to those around them as.

Because both clans shared the same ideals and also the same love for the lands they lived on, they decided to merge their two clans into one. They were reborn under a new name and hoped that by teaching one another about the skills they possessed, they would expand their own perspectives and develop their skills.

He lives to serve his village and to build a happy family with his wife Kaede and his loving daughter Kaori. With those two by his side, he has been able to lead the Sanshou in the right direction. Kizashi is known for his extraordinary talents in healing and is regarded to be a saint by many of the people he's cured from their illnesses.

Sanshou Kaede

Information

Kaede is one of the few decedents of Heishi who are known as the Seed of Sanshou. In the past, Kaede has struggled to teach her people about their clan's history. Only having basic knowledge of this history herself, she knew that it would only be a matter of time before questions would come up that she couldn't answer. This got her depressed, but then she was approached by Kizashi. Kizashi referred to himself as "the man of many gifts" back then. He gave her new hope and ambition, and accepted her for the woman she was. Kaede married Kizashi several years later and got the chance to see her people evolve. Having been accepted into a new family and having made new friends, Kaede gained the confidence she needed to guide her clan once again. She fights her enemies using the original warrior way of the Heishi and supports her team using the healing methods taught to her by Kizashi.

Here's the Hibiki clan. Only 1 more to go!

Now that a faithful leader is once again in charge, the Hibiki hope to make new alliances as they strive for peace to return to their lands.

Okashi was new to this, but he knew it meant that he would have to act with force and determination if any threats to his clan were to appear. At some point, Ayane could no longer stand to see the people of her clan in pain and assumed leadership alongside Okashi to bring fortune to her people once again.
