ive just come back to WoN and i was wondering, can u only get tokens from arena when youre done with the storyline of both regions?

Nope, you can get tokens from them at any time.

You can get them anytime but only 20 from each.

Yes, as of right now the only way to get tokens in-game, besides through quests, is to play the points and streak arena.

I suggest you start early and do some Points Ladder if you're particularly risky and don't care for your Ratios or, if you have one, clan points.
In my standpoint, the token system requires some amount of wins per day, and starting early is best.
Buuuuuut, if you have already unlocked the Fire Arena, I suggest you go nuts and get the 20 tokens per day there. Less risks and at least you have more characters and items on your side by then.

You can earn tokens through the storyline, Referring friends to the game (Facebook and non-facebook), and playing in both the Fire and Battle Arenas
