Burden

My pain,
My sorrows,
My ever-daunting past.
Leaves me here to weep and sob as though I'll never last. 

The world outside my cage,
The world beyond the iron bars,
Watches me from everywhere, 
Further than the stars. 

The happiness I found,
Oh where did it go?
Did it disappear behind the clouds
As though I'd never know? 

The happiness I lost,
Will I ever get it back?
Or will my world crumble around me,
And it all will fade to black. 

If I scream or if I shout,
Will my world revolve?
Will the sun and moon collide,
And all my fears dissolve? 

Not that I'm ever noticed.
Not that anyone cares.
That forces me to keep on carrying,
This burden that I bear.
