The Heroes of Olympus series is the sequel to Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series. It revolves around the prophecy given at the end of the last Percy Jackson book about seven demigods coming together to defeat a great evil. The first three of these demigods are revealed in the first book, The Lost Hero. They are Jason, who wakes up on a bus with no memories who is or who the people around him are, Piper, a girl who claims to be Jason's girlfriend, although he does not remember her, and Leo, a handy kind of guy who is supposedly Jason's best friend. Soon, however, Piper and Leo find out that all is not what it seems with Jason, or with themselves, as they are attacked by mythical creatures and then taken to Camp Half-Blood. Now, mysteries abound as Jason struggles to remember who he is while he and his two friends undertake a quest to rescue Hera from the forces of evil. And, to add to all that, Percy Jackson has gone missing. The second book, entitled the Son of Neptune, will be released in the fall of 2011. The first book is a great read and it leaves you wondering at every turn. There is no end to the suspense created throughout the book and by the end of it you are ready for some answers, answers which you may or may not get.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.
