Well, I'll write my review of what I experienced in 2 days.
I haven't finished the first world yet, but well, I've played enough to have somewhat of a sense of the game.

The idea of the game is really great, I really like the potential of the combat system. I'm a big fan of turn based games and strategic games.

I like how you are in the a world doing missions, that you can finish up quite quickly. Instead of it being a boring single player game with bad AI bots, you play other players. The story is quite lacking but I'm not that much of a fan of story games anyway.
The art is phenomenal (except the house in the background while fighting) and all the characters are unique and interesting.
The sound effects are alright, but the music is usually replaced with one owns.
The battle system is quite interesting and makes up some good strategical thinking.

I haven't tested the arenas yet, so I will not comment on those.

So, continuing to some of the flaws of the game.

Even tho I read the tutorials, I couldn't find the shop for awhile, since I thought they would be located in cities, and not being it's own cities. There are a few typos in the story but neither of these really matters too much - since you might be more observant than me.

However, The battle system, despite having great potential is used quite poorly. Having most attacks dealing 15-40% of a characters total HP and Heals being almost useless, makes the matches "end" in about 6 (3 each) turns (might take longer for one to kill the opponent) and heals being easily blocked and quite insufficient, which is very disappointing to see. You also get an excess of energy points, and them being random makes up for some random luck. There's also too long thinking time.

So for the scoring:
Story: 6
Art: 9 (for such a small browser game)
Sound: 6
Gameplay: 4

Overall: 6

What I would like to see, as general ideas are:
Having the thinking time lowered to half or a third of the current time.

Currently most characters damages 15-40% of characters hp (which is WAY too much), and easily building up insta-kill combos after a few turns. Heals are quite too weak. And you get a big excess of energy points,
If characters had 1.5x hp and heals being buffed greatly, maybe even add another skill or item slot. Damage multipliers being limited too (can't Jun actually go to infinite damage?).

Maybe making skill cost more and increasing the energy point income would make the it harder to manage energy points. You should at least aiming for a match to be interesting for 16+ turns (8 turns each)

(Below is some "complaints" being made without enough knowledge)
There also seems to be way too many characters, having 29 possible characters are way too many to balance. Possibly dividing up the characters to regions, so that only 12-18 characters can be used against each others (DoTA works with many characters because there's so much work done in the balancing).
Now, this last thing I'm not sure how it really works in the current version.

I'm not entirely sure how things looks on higher levels (higher skill level), so I would happily eat my words.

Nice review but maybe you could have waited longer. Its obvious that you haven't played the other arena games. The battles in those were mostly really long and shorter battles here are nice. The battles can be long at times though.

29 characters is actually very little. The other games made by these admins have around 100 characters. More characters re coming too, and many people like a big choice of characters. You don't have to worry about them trying to balance though, they can handle it.

I'm glad you like the game though and hope you stay for a long time :teeth

Nice review.
Although I do not agree with your gameplay score being 4/10.

The game is actually versed to be decided on 6-10 turns or somewhat. The HP and skill costs are planned to be that way and as well as the damage and heals. I once played a nearly-2-hour match because it was a 1v1 battle against 2 life-stealing characters(Megami vs Megami, if you know her).

Other than that, this is an awesome review. :D
Hope you enjoy WoN all the better! Also, you can ask the forums for help if you want. :) Thumbs up!

well, I tend to score things quite low. I personally love the game and the combat system potential. but since it can't really make up for a 20~ minute matches (in like a bo3) like chess, advance wars etc etc, it loses some points there.

I guess tho this is aiming for faster gameplay and something you can play while at work or in school etc, which this system works perfectly for.

the Gameplay here is still WAAAAAAAAY better than n-a/s-a, and is the best browser game yet.

Yes, true. :)

But even though it is a fast game, each turn can slowly decide the winner. So it is still strategical and intellectual to play. :D

Im glad that u like the game, but i must disagree with ut suggestion that thinking time should be lowered. I have to hurry sometimes while thinking my next move, so it eats much my thinking time
But hey, nice review, hope u will play this longer and join forums chitchats ^_^
If nothing seems to go right,
turn left! :teethFinland

I disagree about the turn time

You can speed yourself up if you need to, but Other people prefer to have that time to think over their attacks and calculated damages

well, turn time would need to be lower if you would supposedly play more turns, otherwise I suppose it's fine.

keep in mind that this is kind of an "first impression" kind of review.
The game is probably somewhat different on higher skill levels.
