There's nifty players/items that allow you to ignore invulnerability as well. Any combination of things can be viewed as "OP" when viewed through a narrow enough scope. What balances smokebomb is that it is a one-time use item that can't protect you if your opponent plays in manner that forces your hand, such as attacking your team member with the item.

I totally agree with him. The bomb is an advantage if only you have one but it is not game breaking. You should adapt to the enemy style of play and know that he will use it.

Hey i love the smoke bomb... its my opening move in fact...

If who ever your fighting doesnt have it then you just bought yourself a free turn basicly...

and what i use it for most is giving it to a team mate of Tadashi... use hunter eye and smoke bomb same turn... even IF he/she has a smoke bomb too, Hunters eye leaves which ever charater you target for a free shot... that when used well is a kill shot...

Overall... its far from a pointless item when you know how and when to use it...

Well, once you progress farther in the game people tend not to use smokebomb as much as there are better items to put on, so if you use smokebomb there is a better chance that you will be able to use it effectively.

just use a character that ignores invulnerability, or use a better strategy to eliminate the smoke bomber first

Honestly, something needs to be done about it. More times than I can remember, if someone thinks they're about to lose a character, it's not hard to guess what their about to do: smoke bomb.

Essentially, this buys them a turn for just 1 random energy.

In many cases both teams will be within lethal damage range, so one person goes on the defensive by using the smoke bomb. What the first person to do this soon realizes they just lost.

What happens is that your opponent just mimics you. So at this point you either just surrender, or get desperate and use your entire teams invul. Okay so you went invul...you still lose. All they have to do is once again copy what you do, and when it rolls back to your turn you're a sitting duck.

I'm not saying it HAS to be nerfed, but tweak it, that way its not abused so much like the kunai was at the start of the BETA. Most of us remember how that was...

yeah but you can stun the one who has the smoke bombs in the enmy team, so the enemy will have to use something else:wacko:weird

Yeah... Smoke Bomb is good. I think it's perfect item. It's not extra overpowered and underpowered. Just normal item what can be used only one time...

And people forget that Smoke Bomb was actually very OP before when Shogi and Book of Mentality has no starting cooldown. Sheeesh, Smoke Bomb is literally balanced these days.

I k:amusedinda agree with you but since almost everyone is using smoke bomb it doesnt make such a difference .

EX: Both players have smoke bomb when the first one uses its because hes almost losing then the other player uses to so its just an extra turn.

I see no problems with SB how it is now, just plan for it in advance and you can usually work your way around well timed bombs.
