Some stuff I've done in the past (most of these are quite old) for various different people in various different games. Hope you enjoy.

*EDIT* These are a collection of some of my favorite images (that are appropriate for this forum). Most I added here not for the artistic quality but because they are special to me because they marked a point where I first tried something or learned something while I was making the signature. So even though the final product is not "amazing" to some, they are important to me when I think about the progress I've made in design. I've now added captions to each image to show why I've added the image to this collection...

*EDIT #2* I've had to remove some images from this post due to the extreme loading time. I've moved my recent work to page #2...
----------------------------------------

aaedias1.jpg
Aaedias - Learned a 3 layer border that I've used many times since.

BludyskySyn1.gif
Bludysky - First time I used an animated lightning strike. I used this type of effect in many images afterwards.

claus2.jpg
Claus - One of my first signature images. First image where I used a "ghost" effect with the text. Also began to play with rasterizing text layers and manipulating them.

garet3.gif
Garet - The flash effect in this image is what later led me to the lightning strike effect that I'd later use.

joker.jpg
Jester - First time I was able to really successfully able to make the text appear to be between the character and the *original* background.

Jexi2.jpg
Jexibella - First true textured signature that I used as a final draft.

kimer4.jpg
Kimer - First Poser model I created specifically for a friend's character (wood elf - druid)

origin1.jpg
Origin - Mainly included this image because of the difficulty in smoothing the features of the character on the left (which started out at 50px x 50px) after resizing it so much larger.

predator3.gif
Predator - First hand drawn animation effect (blood, not the light).

rowen1.gif
Rowen - Learned both snow, and rain effects while creating this image.

scaliwag.gif
Scaliwag - First image I used a fade effect in.

slayer1.gif
Slayer1 - First image I used a dripping blood animation.

snakebyte.gif
Snakebyte8 - First time I ever used a "drawing/writing" animation.

sorny6.jpg
Sorny - Learned how to hand draw hair to match original image.

syldra1.jpg
Syldra - Another very early sig. Learned a great deal about glow effects from creating this sig.

Thog2.gif
Thog - First time I did multiple drips. Would later use this for tears, water effects, and of course, more blood!

uchihaMadara.gif
Uchiha - Combined fades and movement for the first time.

ulquiorra1.gif
Ulquiorra - Animated glow effect for first time,

Thanks.

The Triune and Synergy sigs were from Everquest. The others came from a variety of other browser games mostly.

Lol, actually, funny enough, almost all the sigs with blood in them all were requested during a 2 month period of time while I was playing a browser RPG game that had a pretty big community of players that all wanted sigs but a very small group of people that could/would make them. Once I made one with blood, all of the sudden everyone and their mother wanted something "bloody."

Love the title. LoL

I thought this was some kind of retribution...
I like most of the works.
9/10
Although good, I feel they are somewhat plain. xD A case of stock blending with render perhaps. x.x
Or.. could be that you really know what you are doing. Good job! ^^

Edit: Oh and, what did you use to animate the sigs?

A fair number of them are quite plain. These range over a number of years and are arranged alphabetically rather than chronologically. So yeah there are a fair number that are just blending some base/stock img and adding a few effects. Thats how I learned ;)

There are also a few where I created the models myself in Poser (such as my current sig) and used them instead of any stock models. On the other hand there are a number of images in there where there was a great deal of manipulation involved. With Sorney's sig for example, the hair was actually hand drawn in over the top of the model image (who is actually wearing a hooded robe). With Predator's sig, I was actually practicing free handing animation effects (the blood, not the light).

This is basically just a collection of some of my favorite signatures that I've created over the years. Some are my favs because I think they turned out really well, others made it into the list because its where I tried/learned something new while creating it. Maybe I'll go through and add in little captions as to why I added each sig...

Oh, and as for the animations. A fair number of them are actually done with just Photoshop. Although I'm fairly sure a few of those may have been done in AfterEffects. I played around with some stuff with Premier but I've yet to share any of those aborted projects.

I gotta warn you though, don't double post. There is an edit button next to your post. Use that if you feel you have left out something. You double-posted twice.

On topic: You can really do a better job with some of those sigs where you have used borders.

Edit: I gave a 9 because some of them are really fine. Like the one with that long white haired character.

Cool, thanks for the heads up... can't find a delete button though. Haha.

Borders are my least favorite thing to do. Although sometimes I do come up with something I like, most of the time I just end up tossing some random thing into the image at the end to serve as some sort of border.

**EDIT**
Also, I should mention that at least half of these were commissioned for in-game currency of some sort or another, and so were actually designed to the specs I was given. (Thog's for example I had not a great deal of creative control over and went through about 5 different drafts, while Slayer1's had a lot more room for play)

You say you hate bordering, yet most of your work contains some form of it.
I personally dislike using 3D renders in my sigs. In my opinion, it ruins any work like this.

You are quite right, I do generally end up using some sort of border one way or another, and most of these sigs were designed for a black background forum which changes the look of quite a few of the images and borders. I'm really trying to get out of the habbit of putting borders into my images just to have one, but its a hard habbit to break.

As for 3d renders... Personally, I think 3D renders have their place if done well (not that I personally do them well, but it can be done). They can also look really tacky if done badly. I intentionally didn't post sigs that I made out of screen shots from inside any games for just that reason.

That being said, I personally feel that 2D anime/cartoon'ish cutouts are over used too often and can begin to feel a bit too "flat." But again, a lot of that is just personal taste.

I hear you. On a forum who's theme is black, I guess your sigs might look cool.
