My reasoning is simple: United States is a rather arrogant country. Winning a game is not enough - "no, that was the first game won with 5 points made on the 3rd Inning, which makes it a new record!". This behavior gets on my nerves. Sure, winning is great, and people that say the sport is about the competition are merely lying. However, there is a difference between playing to win, but still being competitive and being an asshole. USA falls inside the second category, differently from old URSS and China, for example. Differently from Cuba which, although not having much olympic representation, fights until the end but still has competitive spirit.
Japan, on the other hand, is a country that appears to be respectful towards the world community on each and every competition. Their politeness never cease to amaze me, on a general level (I'm not saying Japan does not have impolite people, however). Thus, I find it great that Japan has won this competition.

Personally, I'm happy for the result. I do not follow Feminine Soccer competitions, but seeing USA lose, for me, is always a delightful experience.

There is some sterotyping in here, and that kind of makes me sad. :(
Anywho like i said in the ALREADY POSTED topic before this, i don't watch soccer... but i am sad they lost :( I am happy though, we lost to Japan, especially after what has happened to them over this past year
