I was just thinking about a way of changing Shoji so that he could actually combat Jikkosu and similar characters if they come out in future, but seen as Shoji is currently well within the balanced range I decided to get a general opinion before suggesting it properly

The real question is:
How often do you use Shadow Guard? Obviously this does not apply if you do not use/have Shoji, if that is the case then answer this: How often do you see it used?

I ask this because I personally never use it at all. In fact I don't think that I have ever used it and I may also have never seen it used, but I am unsure on this point. Four ranged characters have high health, those being Kurai (who self-damages), Ikuchi (Who has a very difficult skillset), Hahen (Who only has Control Skills) and Hai (The only viable attacker out of the four), all the others are dead within a couple of turns of being hit with Shadow Chaser, which reduces their output by 10. Followed by Shuriken Wire to increse reduction to 20. This already cripples most ranged users, a further 30 reduction is pointless, most of them are dealing 20 or less for 2 energy on average.

So, Just to finish up, Do you think that Shadow Guard is a pointless skill within Shoji's skillset?

i do agree Shadow Guard is pretty useless i myself only use it for either 1 turn stun ignore if i can use Shuriken wire because its on all enemies or if faced with AoE ranged damage or Tadashi imo it could be changed to something more useful but im not sure what.

I was planning on suggesting something that makes both Shuriken Wire and Shadow Chaser stackable or something similar

Yeah, never used it. When I use Shoji, my main focus is just getting his affliction off on as many characters as possible before they kill him, as long as they can't heal from bleeding afflictions.

That skill on him is rather useless especially for a random ( I use it to avoid stun lock ).

I never use it (actually I used Shoji few times), but it was already used against in a couple of times. Most times to avoid stun using WoR... just one time was used to protect against ranged damage, was the only way to do it since I used SB in the preivous turn and worked pretty well... but it's tooooo much situational... I'd like to see it changed...

Actually I used it when the enemy goes walling and of course readies Kurai and Tadashi's AoEs. Sometimes, it's like a Hai move of saying, nope, not getting hit with your arrows.

Although considering Shoji is 52.11% win, I doubt they would bring attention to him anytime soon.

The skill is usefull when you battle the Aoiro clan at the beggining, later on the skill is pretty much useless.

Some people use Tadashi or simply full ranged teams using Yuzuki as mainframe. Its the perfect time to use Shadow Guard whenever you cannot use your invul and need the insurance. After Shoji has slitted throats, there's nothing more to do but decrease the possible ranged damage. And Shadow Guard delivers.

You have no idea how annoying it is for a Tadashi user to fight against a Shoji. I should know. His Shadow Guard is an insane block move to his spike and AoE.

I agree. SG comes in really handy when faced with tadashi's 50 dmg spike, jinsei's attack......basically any ranged character that hasn't been affected with shadow chaser....in some cases it can be used when ur unable to use SC and need to protect one of ur chars asap. Imo shoji was specifically designed to tackle ranged characters and he does that job very well.

I'll post something, get loads of opinions, go away

Come back, be about to post the follow up and people will have gone the entirely opposite way
