Don't take my setup serious, its just an example, the topic is about the idea.
Anyway I think everyone hates the way exp is set up in the points ladder, its a 5 year old system that sucks. What is the points arena about? Winning! It should matter if you lose against a low lvl, or beat a high lvl, that shouldn't effect the exp gained/lost. I think it should be changed so that your exp gained/lost depends on your lvl only, and not the difference between you and your opponent.
So here is an example of what I mean.
Lvl 1-5
Win +200 exp
Loss -100 exp
Lvl 6-10
Win +200 exp
Loss -150 exp
Lvl 11-15
Win +200 exp
Loss -200 exp
Lvl 16-20
Win +200 exp
Loss -250 exp
Lvl 21-25
Win +200 exp
Loss -300 exp
Lvl 26-30
Win +200 exp
Loss -350 exp
Lvl 31-35
Win +200 exp
Loss -400 exp
Lvl 36-40
Win +200
Loss -450
Lvl 41-45
Win + 200
Loss -500
Lvl 46-50
Win +200
Loss -500
With this you earn the same exp every win, and only lose more the higher you lvl up. So now there would be no more gaining 50 exp from a lower lvl opponent but then losing 600 from a loss. This system would only be effected by your level. Again the above was an example, but to me is also fairly balanced. I think it should be worked on and implemented at the start of the next Points ladder season.

No. The experience you win or lose varies and depends on the level difference between you and your opponent (in a match where both players play in points arena), or achievement difference (in a match where one player is in points arena while the other isn't), and that's how it should be.
The current exp system is also NOT same as NA or SA's atm, as it was tweaked a few times to make it easier (actually A LOT easier imo) for leveling up, which can be seen here.
Now, as I have passed level 50 in the first season, I can tell you that the current exp system is not that hard, honestly. Not to mention that getting to top ranks should not be easy at all, it should be a challenge and it's more fun that way anyway.
So that's about it, this won't be happening. Topic locked.
