I think we should have a section where we can post about and discuss what's going on in the news. You might make it a subsection of the Debates section, because the two are closely related. However, this section could be for stuff HIV News topic that's not really something to debate but just something newsworthy. Also, the News section could be for more specific topics while the Debates section is for broader subjects. For example, you might post a topic about abortion in general in the Debates section whereas you would post a topic about an abortion doctor being killed by an angry mob in the News section. Note: an abortion doctor was not actually killed by an angry mob, I just needed an example. So, tell me what you think. Good idea? Bad idea? Why?

I really don't see a point unless it's like a stickied topic with a Debate from a major news event, even then no point.

Obviously good idea. It would be great to have it, considering there are news related topics being posted time from time. I just hope they add it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that Encore mentioning there being no News section was what inspired me to make this topic. I saw him mention it and decided to make an official topic suggesting it to see what everybody else thought and to get the idea into the moderators' heads. By the way, vote in the poll so we can get a more accurate depiction of who likes the idea and who doesn't.

You said it. The Literature section rarely ever sees any action even when the forum is booming. Right now, barely any of the sections get much action. The most active topic is Ultimate Tetrahedron's clan topic. Sure, the News section might not be the most active section on the forums, but I doubt it would be the least. I think it would be good to have.

I like the idea because it's annoying to stalk every debate topic to find a topic with some [interesting] news (for example your topic with the most hated groups).

I think this is an interesting idea. Although I agree with Takeko, in that after a little bit after the hype is gone, this section (if made) will not be very active, if not dead.

Also its apart of the diploma im studying where we need to watch the news to find out whats going on in the world, so i'd be an active part of it
