Topic: Thumb up suggestion
Posted on September 24, 2011 5:28 PM
I was thinking that WoN has the potential to become better than s-a and n-a. The only problem it has is the lack of activity.
Although there is activity in-game, the forums are quite dead, if I may say.
So I was thinking about a way to increase players' activity on the forums, and I thought about this idea:
Each time you're thumbed up, you get 1.0 collaboration points (you know, forum collaboration points). That way people would get forum titles more often, as they would also be encouraged to post useful things.
Now, I know you may say "oh no, worst idea ever, too abused", but honestly this place needs more activity and (maybe) this is one of the solutions we're needing.
Thanks for your time.

I think that there should be an IP-ban, if a mod/an admin finds out that someone cheated.
The question is then: Can the staff members see who thumbed up the post(s)?

IP BAN?!?!?!? Marcel you're nuts.It is a good idea but you know it can be abused.

Just a warning and people will chill about it.
IF the problem does continue, then futher action shall be taken, but IP ban is too much my friend.

We need gimmicks to really get popular than SA and NA, even though WoN is clearly better.

I don't think so. (HMM)
Edit : IP Ban for abuse ... sheesh I wouldn't like to be around if you were mod (ONO).

Many In-Gamer think that it is stupid to post on forums because the achievements are unreachable.Nice idea, but come on, it really won't get moar people here Luke (TURKEY).

The change Lucas suggested will or could help.
Of course, WoN needs to advertise more and so on but the lack of forums activity is also because of the unreachable achievements.

its actually because WoN lacks a reputable "brand"The only problem it has is the lack of activity.
i have a cure for the abuing problem though maybe if there was a limit to weither how many times a person can thumb a day or a weekly limit on how many people can thumb a certain person
i think i deserve a thumb for that

Yup something like that so people will be careful on who they thumb. Lol maybe you can buy thumbs like example they limit 10 thumbs per day you can buy thumbs in the shop expanding your thumb limit lol.

This is definetly not funny. It's like that now just stops after like 6 thumbs...? I wouldn't mind having it around though I would abuse the hell out of it.

This can be abused because you can thumb up your posts with your alternative account(s) hundred times or more a day.
A limit (suggested by Ryouka) would also help.

False. You only can thumbs up ONCE each post on the same IP address. So if you use alts, the post will already say 'Thumbed' if you thumbed it once already.(...)

How do you know?

But you could thumb every post of yours, so if you have posted 1000 comments, you can get 1000 thumb ups by just one person.
And you can create an alternative account in an internet cafe or whereever and abuse the system.
