We know that if you are warned, you will usually get warning points.
My suggestion is that the amount of warning points should be decreased by 1 per month.
Without this suggestion, many people will be banned after some months/years on forums because they get sometimes some warning points.

No Marcel even though I have a tweak for this idea, because getting perma banned isn't fun at all.

The max ban length should be a year and points reset to 0 and if you get 5/10 points another year ban because you just haven't learned your lesson.

Perma banning someone who didn't break the rules on a regular basis isn't fair in my eyes.

I think you missunderstood my suggestion.
If you get x warning points in January for example, you will have x-1 warning points on 1st February.
Example:
Month - Warning points(examples) - Warning points after my suggestion
January - 3 (3) - 2 (3-1=2) (2)
February - 4 (7) - 3 (5)
March - 1 (8) - 0 (5)
April - 0 (8) - "-1" (4)
May - 2 (10) - 1 (5)
June - 3 (13) - 2 (7)
July - 0 (13) - "-1" (6)
August - 1 (14) - 0 (6)
September - 2 (16) - 1 (7)
October - 0 (16) - "-1" (6)
November - 3 (19) - 2 (8)
December - 1 (20) - 0 (8)

You will lose 12 warning points per year, so if you had 20 warning points, you would have 8 warning points instead.

Permaban is required ... we have hardcore internet trolls.

I agree. Decrease 1 point maybe per 3 months (1 month is too little).

Well, maybe two months because three months seem to be too long.

Don't the mods already take away points after a certain time if you don't break the rules afterwards? :oh

I completely understood points should never decrease until after the final ban hammer, which is perma ban. I think perma ban is completely unfair because everyone is going to get their share of points and eventually fall to the hammer, it should be a year max (for your casual non trolling/spamming members) then reset totally then after 5/10 more points get another year ban.

Who wouldn't leave the forums, if he/she was banned for one year?

I thought that's how it goes here since I think NB goes by it.

I do not know anything about naruto boards but here is not a warning points decrease.
That is the reason why I am suggesting one.

The thing is, if you get warning points, then you deserve it. You should've read the rules and since you didn't, oh well, get banned. If you don't want any more warning points, then don't break the rules, it's as simple as that, lol. Though if there was a system, every 3 months, you should lose 2 points. I think that was NB's system, and it sounds fair, but eh.

The naruto-boards' system sounds fair, as you said.
Sometimes, you do not think about the rules or forget them.
The decrease is not a great amount and you can still be banned, if you break some big rules.

Well, people shouldn't have forget or broke them in the first place. The decrease is a fair amount.

I guess I'll agree if it was the system I suggested, but really, I don't care either way.
